Russian diplomatic mission in China

The first permanent Russian diplomatic mission was established in Beijing in 1861. Embassy of the Russian Federation occupies the former Russian spiritual mission, established in 1716 with the participation of Russian merchants and with the consent of the Chinese emperor Kangxi. In 1955, the spiritual mission was closed, and in agreement with the Chinese Embassy has moved to its territory (about 16 hectares) of the previous place. This is one of the largest diplomatic mission in the world in the area of ​​the occupied territory.
